Arthur was born on July 6, 1930 in Alliance, Nebraska to Arthur and Myrtle Feagins. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1948. It was there he met and ultimately married Glenna Mae Brock to whom he was married March 24, 1949. Arthur attended college at Valparaiso Tech in Indiana then returned to Scottsbluff, Nebraska working as a disc jockey at a local radio station going by the name “Flop Along Feagins”.
He enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War working in communications eventually rising to the rank of Second Lieutenant. After five years of service to his country, Arthur returned to Lincoln, Nebraska working at the local TV station as a camera operator. While in Lincoln, Arthur and Glenna became parents welcoming Brian Arthur and Eric Alan in 1960 and 1961 respectively. Arthur moved the family to Garland, Texas in 1967 to work for Collins Radio as a technical writer. Later he moved to Prescolite Controls from which he retired at age 74. After retirement, Arthur became involved in the Blind Veterans Association.
Though legally blind from macular degeneration, Arthur continued to work on the computer helping Glenna with newsletters for her work as a volunteer at Baylor Medical Center at Garland. Arthur will always be known for his corny jokes, quirky smile and most of all for his undying devotion to his beloved Glenna to whom he was married 73 years. Arthur is survived by his wife Glenna Feagins, sons Brian Feagins and Eric Feagins, siblings Roy Feagins, Jerry Feagins, Glen Feagins and Martha Rankin Feagins, grandchildren Corrin Feagins Bettis, Ashley Feagins Adkins, and Colin Feagins, and great-grandchildren Zoe Feagins, Sierra Adkins and Lilian Adkins.
A memorial service will be held for Arthur on Thursday July 28, 2022 at 10 am at Ted Dickey Funeral Home 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074.
