Angela was born in California, but within a month, “landed” on Texas soil. We liked to think that she was “a native Texan.”
The first ten years of her life she lived in Wichita Falls. She took dance lessons with Lolly, learned to play the piano, and loved to sing the Annie Musical song, “Tomorrow” on the church stage.
She moved to Plano in the sixth grade where she joined the choir. She attended Wilson~Vines~Plano Senior High where she graduated in 2002.
After graduation, she attended ACU. She loved her GATA girls. Upon learning of Angela’s passing, her “GATA girls” knew it would be a great memorial to raise the funds to put her name on the new fountain. The goal was achieved within a few days!
She graduated with a degree in psychology and education. She later received certification in English and special education.
Her life was filled with adventures at Space Camp, summer camps, ballet and tap classes, gymnastics, TREK adventures climbing up a 10,000 foot summit, snow skiing in Colorado with her family, spiritual leader at ACU hosted Kadesh camps in the summers, and many mission trips in Japan, Germany, Honduras, and U.S. Angela is the poster child for living life to the fullest even though she had many medical issues plaguing her body her entire life. Her gift of love and God filled her life and touched so many people. Her belief in God was strong. Twenty years as a special needs teacher at Shepton HS in PISD revealed a talent of truly understanding how the special population could learn and grow. She modeled respect for the sixteen-year-olds. They knew she was on their team. She established a Best Buddies club for special need students at Shepton, a program that promotes one-on-one friendships between students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those without disabilities within the school. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.
