Alan Wright, a beloved resident of Garland, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on November 1, 1948, in Arkansas he is preceded in death by his father, Wilson E Wright, his mother, Billie V Wright, and brother Edward M Wright. Alan spent his formative years in Garland, graduating from Garland High School.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Wright, daughter Jamie Ely and husband Kevin Ely, daughter Amanda Holloman, and grandson Alan Ty Holloman. Alan has 4 stepchildren: stepdaughter Bridget and husband Blain Ralston, stepdaughter Stephanie and husband John Crigler, stepson John and wife Ashley Head, and stepson Jason and wife Brittany Head, 13 grandchildren Matthew, Clayton, Jacob, Courtney, Colton, Ty, Autumn, Makaylah, Payton, Braydin, Hunter, and Adalynn, 3 great grandchildren Waylon, Beau, and Wrenlee. Alan leaves behind a legacy through his 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to him.
Having dedicated 45 years of hard work to Sherwin Williams, Alan's commitment to his profession was unwavering until his well-deserved retirement. Beyond work, Alan found joy in his passion for vintage cars, bowling on leagues with his wife, indulging in wrestling, and occasional visits to the casino.
Alan's warm and kind nature made him a loving husband and father and friend to many. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family and friends alike.
A celebration of Alan Wright's life will take place on January 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at Ted Dickey's Funeral Home in Plano, Texas.
