I am very lucky because ‘Big Phil’ was my father-in-law.

I am honored to have known his kindness, his generosity, and will always be amazed at how quickly and easily he and I became friends. I’ll miss his text messages to check in. I’ll miss the way he loved our son (his name sake, Philip Charles III). I’ll miss his advice. And mostly, I’ll miss him pushing the box of ‘flag cookies’ across the dinner table and telling me to have more :)

Your passing left a hole in our hearts Dad, but you’ll live forever in our memories. Your grandson will know of the incredible man you were and how much you loved him.

Big Phil was a man’s man, he was smart, tough, had a big heart and would always go out of his way to not only help you but teach you. I was lucky enough to grow up in plainview with lil Phil and the family. I’ll always have the great memories in my heart of all the times we spent together.

Saglimbene Family, Although I never met Mr. Saglimbene, as a NYPA colleague of Phil, I can see by the memorable photos & words that he was dearly loved, respected & therefore, missed by all ! May you be comforted by our loving Heavenly Father & Creator who stated at 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 : “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,… the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our trials” as all of you can put trust in his future promise when “death will be no more”. (Revelation 21:3-4) Sincerely!

Philip C. Saglimbene, PGK(3) was a Grand Knight of the St. Pius X Council #10332 in Plainview, N.Y. for 5-Years. He played a most active role in everything associated with his Church and K of C Council. Phil (or Big Phil as I knew him) was the greatest man I have ever met.  He showed me the way, and he helped to inspire me daily.  He was the Father I never had, and his memory and wisdom will live on forever.  Rest in Peace Phil,  Thank you for everything and I Love You.

Phil was one of the most compassionate and caring people that I've met. He would always go out of his way to help someone in need. That is how he lived his life. I will always remember us reminiscing about our high school days at Power Memorial Academy in Manhattan. Although we didn't attend at the same time, we laughed and shared many fond memories of  school events and teachers. Moments like that will be greatly missed. Thanks for everything!!
