William Joseph Crews

William Joseph Crews passed away June 14, 2014 at his home in El Dorado, CA. Bill was predeceased by his wife Irene L. (Barron-Brown) Crews. He is survived by his son, Wm. Gary (Christina) Crews and his stepsons, Robert (Marguerite) Brown and the late Ronald (Suzanne) Brown; loving grandfather of Robert (Tracey) Brown, Philip (Stacey) Brown, Michelle (Marc) Fitzpatrick, Kimberly (Scott) Smith, Lindy Crews, Kalie (Robert Wilkerson) Crews and David (Rocio) Mosley; devoted great grandfather of Madison, Taylor, Abigail, Wyatt, Ryan, Brittany (Michael), Stephanie, Matthew and Tyler.

Bill was born in McCook, Nebraska on August 17, 1920 and had been an El Dorado County resident for 54 years. He was a manager of several lumber companies over 37 years and retired from Diamond National in So. Lake Tahoe. Bill was a 50 year member of the Masons, a 60 year member of the Rotary Club in Pollock Pines and past president of the So. Lake Tahoe Rotary Club. Bill was a member of the Dragin Wagins of Pollock Pines, a volunteer fireman in Atwater, a charter member of the California State Sheriff’s Assoc. and a past director of the So. Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce.

Inurnment services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Placerville Union Cemetery, Placerville. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, Placerville, CA.
