Thomas "Tom" Martin Garcia

Tom was a beloved husband for 38 years to Ellen (Ellie) Marie Garcia. Tom was an adored brother, uncle, godfather, and good friend to so many. He was a decorated marine sergeant, man of honor and loyalty, he was an inspiration to many. After a long heroic fight, he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, with his wife by his side.

As an employee activist at UC Davis for over 23 years, he formed the electricians union where he fought hard to bring many changes and benefits to his fellow coworkers. He was known for his great skills as a story teller, an avid listener, a mentor, and a dapper world traveler. His contagious laugh, smile, and cool calm and collected demeanor, will be remembered by all who knew him. He loved all the finer things in life; from classic films, jazz music, automobiles, art, sculptures, traveling the world, to gourmet food and of course his fabulous wife Ellie

Tom was a prankster and full of witty jokes. His laugh will echo in our hearts forever and his legacy lives on with his family. He was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed.
