Ruth was one of the strongest women I've met. I always remember her with a smile even when we were being bad kids, which was often. Her and Joe put up with so much, and now looking back as an adult I know it's because they wanted us close to home when we made our mistakes. I wouldn't be the person I am if it wasn't for her love and mentorship. I'm so glad we got to spend an afternoon catching up and picking figs last fall.
