Jim, the eldest of three sons, was born in 1946 to Leslie James Mathers II and Betty Jean Mathers in Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from Hialeah High School in 1964, he dedicated four years of service to the Air Force, with deployments in Thailand and Japan.
After completing his military service, Jim returned to Miami, where he met and married Dolores Reinhart. They later moved to Colorado, where they welcomed two daughters, Julie and Valerie. In 1984, he married Pamela Rogers, with whom he shared a loving relationship for the remainder of his life.
Jim had a lifelong passion for music across various genres. He cherished time spent with his wife, Pam, enjoyed nature walks with his dog, and found joy in the laughter shared with friends and neighbors. With a vibrant sense of humor, Jim embraced the simple pleasures in life, including good food, coffee, and dark chocolate. He also enjoyed playing chess and engaging in meaningful discussions about the world.
He is survived by his wife, Pam; his daughters, Julie and Valerie; five grandchildren, Isabella, Kassidy, Brenden, Devin, and Jordan; and his siblings, Frank and Paul, along with a broad network of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Betty, and his first wife, Dolores.
In honor of Jim's memory, we invite you to consider making a donation in his name.
He will be forever held in our hearts.
