Joyce was born in San Francisco on October 27, 1921 to August and Effie Miller of Gardnerville, Nevada. She was the second of five children; John (dec),
Jim of Reno, Janet (dec), and Kim of Texas.
After graduating from Douglas High School in Gardnerville at the age of 16, Joyce moved to Sacramento and attended Business School achieving high honors and the expertise to follow a career as an Executive Secretary in the Banking business for thirty years.
While in Sacramento, she met the love of her life, Lester Frost (dec), and they were married on April 27, 1946 in Placerville.
Joyce and Lester had a wonderful life and happy marriage until he passed away on April 25, 1989. They were blessed with two children, Stan (Lauretta), and Conni Jo Hardie (Bill), and one grandson, Scott.
Some years later Joyce and her companion, Donald Goodrich (dec) traveled extensively around the world returning to spend the winters in Hawaii at their condo on the Big Island, where she was a member of the Lea Lea Woman’s Golf Club at the Kona Country Club.
Joyce was a Charter Member of the Cold Springs Golf and Country Club and the Hangtown Woman’s Tennis Club in Placerville.
Joyce was devoted to and loved her family, enjoyed her friends, playing bridge and Mahjong.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Joyce on Friday, August 23rd at 11 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento Street, Placerville, California. She will be laid to rest at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville, at a private family gathering.
