We (Denny and I) had visits with Joe and Clare over these many years only occasionally since we lived so far away.
I always felt a special bond with them, even so,  because we were loved, and able to share life experiences together in light of trust in the One who gave us life.  It is beyond understanding, but even now,  we will trust that all things are in our Father's care.  In all the chaos and messiness of human  experience,  God will ultimately bring about a wondrous order.  My ways are not your ways, says the Lord. ( l have to keep reminding myself of that!) Thanks, Joe, 
for pointing us to Christ, our Hope.

My brother loved the Lord, and always tried to walk according to his statues.  Joe was thirteen years older than myself,  he many times shared his wisdom with me. One occasion he shared, at just the right time, he said, "Denny, did you know that you can approach God using your own words, commune with him as a friend?". This wisdom has always stayed with me, I will always treasure his willingness to share his spiritual insight with me. Till  me meet again Joe. Love, Denny

One of my favorite memories of Uncle Joe is  the Callagher family coming to visit us during the summers . In one hand Uncle Joe would  have  a bag of groceries with a loaf of sour dough bread and the spaghetti makings and in the in the other hand a galloon jug of Gallo red wine.   Uncle Joe would make the spaghetti and our parents would sit around the table all evening  and catch up and passionately talk  about politics.  It was the best of times.
