John Michael Tillotson passed away in the early morning of July 27, 2022 at 60 years of age. He had been living with lung disease and died peacefully in his sleep, knowing his family was with him. John was born on February 2, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa to Brian and Patricia Tillotson. He passed away in his home in Placerville, CA.
John “JT” was an accomplished software engineer. Out of high school he began working in programming and technology. He was a devoted employee and spent over 20 years with his employer, Franklin Templeton. He was a team player and great leader who valued his work and community. John spent many years known as “Mr. T” or “Coach”. He was involved in his kids’ scouting, softball, church and other activities. He was famous for blasting his stereo full volume and jamming on his air guitar until the strings broke. He loved attending rock concerts spontaneously and traveling the country just to watch a ball game in a new stadium. John had a fun loving, adventurous spirit that made people smile everywhere he went.
John is survived by his four children Lauren (Chris Nosler), Amy, Grace, and William. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Tillotson, three siblings James Tillotson (Suzanne). Kelly Sharp (Denny), and Kerry Waughtal (Brett) and two grandchildren Eric and Charlotte Nosler. In his final days he expressed how loved and supported he felt by the people in his life.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Tuesday, August 9. A service will be held at Federated Church in Placerville at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be hosted at his home in Placerville at 3:00 p.m. the same day. We invite you to join us or to play loud music to celebrate his life. John is deeply loved and truly missed.
