Diana was preceded in death by her mother, Olive, her father, Fred, and her children, Gary, Debbie, Michael, and Edward. She is survived by her daughter Cathleen; her son Tony; her sisters, Kathy, Beverly, and Teresa; nieces, grandchildren, great-nieces, and nephews. Her sister Kathy notes, "All through my life, Diana has always been there for me in her own unique ways."
Diana was remarkably talented at crocheting and could crochet almost anything. She often gifted her beautiful work to family and friends. Her sister Teresa notes Diana was also "a fun-loving adventurer" well known for her talent, resonating infectious laugh, and gorgeous long blond braid. She was also a "fantastic cook," notes her sister Beverly.
An avid gardener, Diana could quite often be found on her patio, doting over her many plants. She loved sharing her observations of the outdoors, including everything from the color of the blossoms to the local wildlife and the general beauty of living in Pollock Pines, CA. Diana had a fantastic talent for propagating and nurturing new growth from trimmings. She knew how to prep her pots for the winter, leave them to be blanketed in snow and then anticipate the new growth of spring.
"Just remember in the winter - Far beneath the bitter snows - Lies the seed that with the sun's love - In the spring becomes the rose"
~Bette Midler
Instead of giving flowers, the family asks those interested to plant a bulb, seed, or cutting - then, upon the new growth of spring, look up and smile in remembrance.
