William Earl McCracken, age 75 of West View, formerly of Bellevue, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016. He was born November 24, 1940 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Herbert and Emily McCracken. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara A. McCracken; loving father of William (Katarina) McCracken II, Emily L. (Joe) Hodder, Michelle White and the late Tammy McCracken. Step-father of Judy Hart, Christine (Kevin) Fox, Steve (Robin) Hart, Michael (Karla) Hart, Joseph (Tammy) Hart and James (Sherrie) Hart. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his first wife, Sharon McCracken.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Newt White; a brother, Red McCracken and a sister, Eleanor Brooks.
Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a former volunteer in the Cardiac Unit of Passavant Hospital. He will always be remembered by his family and many friends as a Jack Of All Trades and as a King Of One Liners. He was a lover of the Pittsburgh sports teams, golfing, the occasional adult beverage and watching television. His TV and table lamp remained on all hours of the day and night with the TV tuned to his two favorites, the Velocity channel or the Western channel. He will be sorely missed by his furry friend Jake.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7 pm in the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave, Avalon, 412-766-5600, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11am.
