Ruth (Glassbrenner) Hess, age 95, of Cranberry Township, formerly North Side and North Hills, died peacefully on June 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Ronald Hess; parents, John and Evelyn Glassbrenner; and sister, Lila Glassbrenner. Born April 17, 1928, Ruthie had a 36-year-long career with Bell Telephone, beginning as a steno clerk, and ending with Verizon as an executive in the Personnel Department. Ruthie married J. Ronald Hess in 1973. Together they were actively involved at Northmont Presbyterian Church, sailing on Lake Arthur with family and friends, traveling extensively, and being Florida snowbirds until Ron’s death in 1993. Ruthie will be dearly missed by her stepchildren, William (Eloise) Hess and Rika (the late James) Wadsworth and their children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Ruth’s name to Northmont Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
