Raymond "Skip" Hildenbrand Sr.

Raymond “Skip” Hildenbrand, Sr., 74, of West View, passed away on February 17, 2023 in Gibsonia, PA. He was born to the late Theodore and Mary (Wahl) Hildenbrand on January 16, 1949 in Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, Skip is preceded in death by his wife, Andrea J. Hildenbrand; and his siblings, Kathleen (Paul) Sprung and Theodore (Rosemary) Hildenbrand.

Skip was raised in Bellevue and was a graduate of Bellevue High School. After graduating, Skip proudly served in the United States Army. He then met his wife, Andrea, and they were married in autumn 1971. Andrea and Skip settled in West View where they began to raise a family. Skip was known for his love of muscle cars, sense of humor, jovial nature, and love of music. He had a life hack for just about every situation you could find yourself in. Skip also spent much time in his woodworking shop where he patiently taught many a person, including his children and grandchildren, how to create beautiful furniture. Skip was a member of Local 95 as an operating engineer. As a graduate of Bellevue High School, he found it an honor to be part of the Bellevue High School Reunion Committee. He will be greatly missed in everyone’s life he touched.

Skip is survived by his children, Raymond (Sara) Hildenbrand, Jr., Jennifer (Michael) Wakelin, Michael (Jacqueline) Hildenbrand, and Alexis (Selim) Hildenbrand; grandchildren, Elijah Raymond Hildenbrand, Michael Joseph Wakelin, and Sophia Rose Hildenbrand; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 5pm-8pm at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 9am at the funeral home. Interment to immediately follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
