At age 78, Patricia C. Tate (Patty) passed away on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2021. Fitting for a woman that had such a huge heart. She was a loving mother to Patricia (Whitmer) Schneider and Kimmy Whitmer. Very proud Granny of Beatrice and Lena Schneider; Daughter of the late William and Clara Tate; sister of Carol Megahan (Ralph Megahan) and William Tate (Mary Ann Tate). Also survived by her loving niece, Jeanine Ayers and her nephews, Michael, Matthew and Patrick Megahan and Daniel, William and Joseph Tate, and her son-in-law, John Schneider. She was a dear friend to all who knew her. Patty spent her life working in the airlines and ended her career with USAir. She loved to travel. She always had an entrepreneurial spirit and created and sold jewelry as a side business most of her life. She was a true woman of faith and loved her church, Assumption. Patty loved her daughters and was especially devoted to her special needs daughter Kimmy. Patty shined even brighter as a Granny. Her passions included gardening, all types of wildlife, but especially feeding her birds and raccoons, sewing and making costumes for her granddaughters, rescuing cats, playing piano, playing Scrabble with her beloved sister Carol, playing cards and Rummikub with her daughter and granddaughters nightly, going out for drives with Kimmy to find special rocks, and going out to dinner with her family. Throughout her life, Patty had the ability to make everyone feel loved and special. She was the most kind and gentle Irish soul you could ever know. Her life gave her so many challenges and she met every one with grace and dignity. She will be missed greatly. Services will be at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Thursday, February 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. Catholic Burial Mass at Assumption Church in Bellevue at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 19th.
