Noreen O'Mahony, age 93, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Noreen was born in Pittsburgh on March 19, 1929 to the late John and Margaret O'Connor. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John "Jack" O'Mahony; her son, Mark O'Mahony and six siblings.
Noreen was a 1947 graduate of Perry High School. It was during her high school years that Noreen met her future husband, Jack, at West View Danceland. Jack eventually won her heart and they were married for 58 wonderful years. She went on to establish a career with Giant Eagle where she worked for over 20 years and made life-long friends. Noreen and Jack loved having their family gather practically every weekend in the summers for backyard cookouts and pool parties. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and had the opportunity to travel to Ireland with several family members where she reconnected with relatives and stayed in contact through social media. In her later years, she loved to go bowling every Tuesday, was an active member of several AARP groups, often traveling with them and attending events with good friends. She also looked forward to the lunch dates she had with her nieces and grand-nieces and nephews, always trying different restaurants each time. Noreen was known for her feisty personality and used her strong will to fight cancer for the last two years with the incredible care her hospice team provided. Most importantly, Noreen will be remembered for her strong faith in God and the beautiful love she shared with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her extensive Irish family.
