Margaret was born in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Verner P. Lutz and Dolores (Thieret) Lutz. She was a graduate of Mt. Assisi High School in Bellevue. After graduating, Margaret worked as a secretary at PPG before spending many years as a homemaker. She later returned to the workforce before retiring as an administrative assistant in the medical department at U.S. Steel.
Margaret’s greatest joy was her family. She loved attending the ball games of her younger siblings in her early years, and later was the #1 fan for her own children at their ball games and concerts. Margaret’s other love was music. She loved listening to the “Golden Oldies” while singing along. She was a devout Catholic, long time member of Sacred Heart Church in Emsworth, and shared her musical talents in the Church as a cantor and choir member.
She is survived by husband of 50 years Louis, children Edward (Delilah) of Greensburg, Michelle of Plum, and Philip (Amanda) of Indian Springs Village, AL, siblings Ronald (Karen) of Glenshaw, Joseph (Mary Ellen) of Cranberry, Leonard (Deborah) of Ohio Twp, Stephen (Donna) of Glenshaw, Kenneth (JoAnn) of Glenshaw, Matthew (Diane) of Allison Park, Virginia Hauser (Paul) of Pittsburgh, and Vincent (Catherine) of Moon Twp. Grandchildren Elena, Jolene and Leah of Greensburg. Dagny, Harriet Louise and Bristal of Indian Springs, AL as well as dozens of nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by sister Agnes Mazur (Charles) and brother Raymond (Patricia).
Friends are invited to a visitation at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 10AM at St. John Neumann Church-Regina Coeli Parish 2230 Rochester Road Pittsburgh PA 15237 please meet at the funeral home at 9:00AM
