July 27, 1943 – November 26, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of S. Lynne Nash, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on November 26th at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Harriet Dryburgh, devoted husband, Richard V. Nash, and her brother, William Dryburgh (Kathy).
Lynne spent 30 years teaching science at Carrick High School. She was known for making science fun and engaging, and her students fondly remembered her as a teacher who cared deeply about their success.
She married Richard V. Nash in 1991, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. Lynne was a dedicated and loving mother to his children: Richard (Audrey), Beth (Bob), Tom (Dee), and Dan (Tami). Her love for her family was her greatest treasure, and she found endless joy in the company of her grandchildren: Caley, Natalie (Andrew), Bobby, Thomas, Marley, Danny, Kamryn, Kara, and Ella and great-grandchildren: Ava, and Max. Each of them held a special place in her heart.
Lynne had a playful spirit that brightened every room she entered. She was a passionate lover of games, especially pinochle, which she enjoyed playing with friends and family. Her competitive nature was always balanced by her infectious smile and sense of fun. Lynne's love of sparkle—whether it was a twinkle in her eye, a glittering piece of jewelry, or the sparkle of joy she spread to those around her—was a defining trait of her personality.
She was also a cherished aunt to Todd (Sue), Bruce (Donna), Ian (Betsy), and their children, and a friend to many who will remember her warmth, generosity, and ability to bring people together.
Lynne's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her love, her laughter, and her sparkle will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29 from 5 PM until 8 PM at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Hwy., Pittsburgh, PA 15237. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 30 at 10 AM at the funeral home; burial to follow at St Augustine Cemetery on Wible Run Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association, an organization close to Lynne’s heart. And please consider being an organ donor.
Rest in peace, Lynne. You brought so much light and love into this world, and we will carry your spirit with us always.
