Lucille Stringert passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, surrounded by family as she left this world. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill “Bib” Stringert, and her parents, John and Lucy Winskey.
Lucille’s 91 years were nothing short of spectacular. Her life was simple: FAMILY, FAITH, FRIENDS. Her family was her legacy. She would tell her children, “You don’t need a million friends, just true friends.” She was blessed with a million true friends.
Lucille raised her family in the North Hills area. She also worked later in life at Fodi Jewelers and blessed Bellevue Lincoln Avenue with her presence. If you met and knew Lucille, you loved her.
Upon retirement, she and her husband, Bill, enjoyed traveling and helping to raise their grandchildren. There wasn’t a football game, soccer tournament, gymnastic event, basketball game, or track meet they didn’t attend.
Until her final days, she clung to this beautiful life. We must thank and give accolades to Heartland Promedica Hospice. Amy, Kelly, Richard, Karen, and Stacy cared for her like she was their own.
Lucille was a loving mother to Bill Stringert, Patty Baldinger (Fred), John Stringert (Marcia), Lucille Johns (Mark), and Elaine Ward (Bob); grandmother to 9, Bill Stringert (Tara), Ryan Baldinger (Maria), Keerie Baldinger, Carson Baldinger, Emily Gates (Matt), Erin Savoree (Nathan), Ben Foreman (Julia), Elizabeth Siford (Andrew), and Sarah Ward (Zander); and great-grandmother to 6, Dillon Baldinger, Max Baldinger, Brooks Baldinger, Ben Gates, Lucy Gates, and Thomas Gates; loving sister to Laverne Jones (Rich); and aunt to many nieces and nephews, who she adored.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 and Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1000 Avila Court, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Interment to follow at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.
“Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again.”
“When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; the angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me “Welcome Home.” So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.”
