Louise Ann Braun

LOUISE (TROY) BRAUN, age 53, of Shaler Twp., passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013. She was the loving wife of Jack Braun; beloved mother of Chad (Claire) Braun and Eric Braun. She was the daughter of the late Valentine Troy and Marilyn (Gallagher) Troy. Louise is also survived by her grandchildren, Derrik, Taylor, Jackie, Peter, and John David; loving sister of Carol (Gary) Schmitt and their children, Anna, Mally, Mary, Gus, Vince, and Joe; Peggy (Jim) Lane and their child, Ali; Val (Bonnie) Troy and their children, Val, Garrett, and Taylor; David (Daryl) Troy and their children, Dave, Danny, and Drew; Karen Troy; Rob (Robin) Troy and their children; Patty (Tom) Fadok and their child, Sarah; Gay (Steve) Velette and their children, James and Jennifer. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Paul. Louise was a Phys Ed teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Pittsburgh. She was a successful basketball and softball player and coach of numerous teams. She has an array of trophies and accomplishments, including: "YMCA Outstanding Athletic Achievement for Softball." She constantly fought for more athletics and Phys Ed in the schools, believing a healthy life style would improve your future. She succumbed to the devastating effects of brain cancer after fighting it for over three years. She will be lovingly remembered by each and every person whose lives were touched by her.
