Our beautiful, sweet mother went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Loma A. Walczak, age 99, of Ross Twp, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was the cherished daughter of the late Harvey and Phyllis (Creese) Dambach and the beloved wife to the late Thomas Walczak. Together they raised eight children: Gerald (late Karen) Walczak, Susan (late Tom) Lausi, Daniel (Ruth) Walczak, Judy (Paul) Spark, Carol (Steve) Binder, Karen (Paul) Biagetti, Cynthia (Lenny) Lang, Joanne (Doug) Hunter.
Loma's greatest joy was her family. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren; Heather (Judson) DiVincenzo, Michael (Laurie) Lausi, Scott Walczak, Kevin (Tracie Ryan) Lausi, David (Jaclyn) Lausi, Brian (Kristy) Walczak, Jason Walczak, Matthew (Heather) Lausi, Matthew Binder, Erica (Chris) Kotick, Jeffrey Lang, Rachel (Cody) Vocature, Nicole Jones, Lauren (Ben) Mann, Kimberly Perry, and great grandchildren; Carter, Jackson, Juliana, Justin, Sarah, Connor, Kaitlyn, Kayleigh, Ethan, Greyson, Owen, Cooper, Sydney, Ilias, and Elijah.
Loma led a fulfilling life, that was driven by love for her family. She was a culinary genius in the kitchen, a talented organizer, and poured her heart into everything she did, always thinking of others.
She was, first and foremost, a dedicated mother - she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them individually with unconditional love. She especially enjoyed her role as Grandma and GiGi, had great wit and humor, and was the true essence of "LOVE." Her positive influence, nurturing, and love of her family will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her. She also loved to travel, and always had her suitcase packed and ready to go, earning her the nickname “Galivanting Grandma.”
Friends are invited to the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh PA 15237 on December 6, 2022, from 2PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Teresa of Avila Church (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish) on December 7, 2022, at 10AM, followed by burial at Christ our Redeemer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Loma Walczak.
