John “Roger” Toth of McCandless Township, died Monday, April 17, 2017. Roger was born in Pittsburgh on August 28, 1935, and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio where he graduated from Cathedral Latin High School. He studied Electrical Engineering at Notre Dame where he met and married his wife, Helen in 1959. He went on to receive a Masters at Case Western Reserve in Engineering. Roger’s strong faith sustained him throughout his life in his over 50 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was an active member at Saints John and Paul Roman Catholic Parish (Sewickley). He has a passion for Notre Dame Football and also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, playing card games, and solving mathematical equations.
Helen, Roger’s beloved wife of 52 years passes away in 2012. Roger is survived by his five children; Laura of South Bend, IN, Anne, Gigi and Michael of Northern Virginia and Greg of Bridgeville, PA; his brother Ronald of Jacksonville, FL, and his 13 grandchildren spanning in age from 11 to 30. Friends will be received from 2 until 5 PM on Sunday at the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, Inc., 1032 Perry Highway, Ross Township, 412-364-4444. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 am in Saints John and Paul Catholic Church, 2586 Wexford-Bayne Road, Sewickley (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH), to be followed by a graveside service at Holy Savior Cemetery & Mausoleum, 4629 Bakerstown Road, Gibsonia.
