John Q. Goodman, affectionately know to many as "Jack", "Whitey" and "JQ", age 91, of Millvale, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019. Beloved father of John "Jay" (Darla) Goodman of Salem, OH, Doug (Mary Elizabeth) Goodman of Sheraden and Dale (Tammy) Goodman of Norfolk, VA; loving grandfather of Christopher, Brian, Quinton, Hunter, Nicholas and Matthew; great grandfather of Christopher, Jr., Kylie, Brian, Jr., Andrew, Tessa, Leilani and Lillian. Mr. Goodman was a WW II Veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a longtime, dedicated employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad (later Conrail), serving as a brakeman for 15 years and then as a conductor for 13 years. He was a member of UTU #1414, serving as union secretary for 15 years, and he published the union newspaper during this time. After retirement, he continued devoting his time by assisting railroad widows with benefits. For many years, Mr. Goodman volunteered his time to Boy Scout Troop #87, serving as chairman for 4 years. Family and friends will be received Tuesday 6-8 PM and Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Healy-Hahn Funeral Home, Inc., 512 Grant Ave., Millvale, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either the Tourette Association of America (Tourette.org) or the Autism Society of America (autism-society.org).
