James L. Helfrich

James L. Helfrich, age 88, Bellevue, passed away peacefully at home January 5, 2018. Loving husband of 19 years to Joan T. (Sandroni) Helfrich; loving father to Robert Helfrich, Kathleen Helfrich Miller, Louis Helfrich (Sharon), David Helfrich (Kathleen); step children Donald Meyer, Darlene Meyer Giodano (Chad), Denise Meyer Kennell; grandfather of Tom (Leigh) Miller, Karl (Kathryn) Miller, Melinda Helfrich Boulware (Kelly), Kristin Helfrich (Adam Kampmeyer), Matt Helfrich (Kathryn), Lauren Helfrich Rockacy (Ryan), Jared Helfrich (Elizabeth); eleven great grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren; and also survived by brother Edward Helfrich. Preceded in death by wife of 43 years Rose; sisters Florence, Mary, Tharsella, Colletta and Margaret, and brother William. James was an US Air Force Veteran. A pharmacist for Thrift Drug Store and District Manager, he worked from 1968 until 1989, and also with Medicap until the age of 80. Friends will be received Saturday from 6-8pm and Sunday from 12-4pm in the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave. Avalon, (412 766 5600). Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10am in Church of the Assumption. Interment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer cemetery.
