Helen E. Sprenkle

Helen Emma “Dolly” Yochum Sprenkle, 92, of Bellevue, on Monday, March 10, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Charles Hamilton Sprenkle. Loving mother of Charlotte Sprenkle Scholl, Kenneth (Tina) Sprenkle, Carolyn (Thomas) Glaser and Brig. Gen. David (Janice) Sprenkle; proud grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 21. She is preceded in death by her brothers Arthur, Charles, Richard and Gilbert and sisters Carolyn, Mary, Anna, Beatrice and Lorraine. Dolly was a homemaker dedicated to raising her four children. She enjoyed playing Scrabble, card games, reading, singing, her Bellevue friends and, especially, her grandchildren. As a young woman, she occasionally had the opportunity to sing with local bands and even preformed with the Oasis Chorale in Pittsburgh.

Friends received Thursday 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave., Avalon 412-766-5600 where a funeral service will be held Friday 10am. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. In lieu of flowers donations suggested to the St. John’s Specialty Care Center, P.O. Box 928, Mars, PA 16046 or a charity of one’s choice.
