Dennis R. Girty Age 83 of Reserve Twp on Friday Aug 11, 2023. He was the son to the late John and Elva (Turner) Girty. Beloved husband of 61 years to Arleen (Colnar) Girty Loving Father of Laurel (Wayne) Wisniewski, Lisa (Marty) Kirsch and Dean (Melissa) Girty. Loving Grandfather of Julia, Sheri, Robert, Kaitlynn, Cameron, Aidan, Nathan, Amanda and Taylor.

Our dad was loved by many and will be missed by all. Family picnics and holidays will never be the same without him. Dad loved to be around people and enjoyed sipping on a beer and talking about the Steelers or the latest television show about the Titanic. He often reminisced about his youth in Millvale and his many parties held at his parents’ house, playing music and always having a good time. Dad loved listening to his favorite Italian Tenor André Bocelli but also enjoyed playing his Gibson guitar and harmonizing with his brother Bob to “Wake up little Susie” by the Everly Brothers. Dad was civic minded, he served his country honorably in the US Army in Frankfurt Germany and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Mt Troy, Reserve Township where he coached little league baseball for many years.

Dad loved the many cats and dogs he had throughout his life. His current cats Dory and Bebe will miss sitting on his lap and getting their evening treats that dad called “goodies”.

Rest in peace our beloved Dad. We will miss you and will see you in the afterlife.

Friends and family are invited to the H.P. Brandt Funeral Home 1032 Perry Hwy Pittsburgh Pa 15237 on Tuesday August 15, 2023 from 4PM to 8PM. Full Military Honors will take place at the funeral home at 7PM

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church 24 Maryland Street Pittsburgh PA 15209 burial to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery Reserve Twp.
