Dennis grew up in McKees Rocks, PA and enlisted in the US Army when he was 18 years old. After his discharge he met Judith Rittmeyer at The Grove, and so began a beautiful relationship and 51 years of loving marriage. Dennis began his career in retail at Kaufmann’s Department Stores, where he worked as a footwear salesperson and executive buyer for more than 25 years. Later in his career he also worked at the Bon-Ton and Boston stores.
Dennis’s greatest pride in life was his family. He is survived by his wife Judith, his children, Patrick Dennis Branagan (Rachel) and Denise Branagan Cooper (John), as well as his four beautiful grandchildren, Reese Marie Branagan, Gavin Patrick Brangan, Isaac Thomas Cooper and Luke Robert Cooper, to whom he always brought joy and laughter. Dennis was the youngest of nine children and he is survived by a sister, Margaret Butz, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dennis warmed the hearts of everyone he met with his bright smile and infectious laugh. Please join us for a funeral mass at 10AM on Friday, September 25th, at Saint Mary of the Mount Catholic Church. There will be an outdoor reception at the North Park ‘Gold Star’ grove beginning at noon, for those coming from the church and for those wishing to offer their condolences outdoors due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Dennis’s name to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
