David N. Ferraro, Sr passed from this world May 18, 2024. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa, on December 21, 1944, to the late Joseph and Clara Ferraro. He attended school in the Brookline area of Pittsburgh, and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, achieving a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts. While at IUP, he met and married the love of his life for the next 45 years, Barbara Ruddock. He started working at United States Steel as a computer programmer writing many of their programs that remain in use to this day, eventually retiring from a subsidiary chemical company to spend time with his family and travel. During their travels, they visited all 50 states, finishing up with Alaska and Hawaii in recent years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents Joseph and Clara Ferraro, his older brother Joseph, older sister Barbara, and a younger brother who died as a child. He is survived by his son, David Jr, and his beloved daughter-in-law, Veronica Santee (he would insist on dropping the “in-law” part) who was his primary caretaker as his health began to decline. Also survived by his grandchildren, Sophia, Maria, Sabrina, Amelia, Travis, David III, and Rosie.
