Barry Wayne Barnett, 76, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024. A dedicated Vietnam Veteran, Barry earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Elizabeth Muller and Clyde Barnett, Barry's devotion extended beyond his military service.
An unwavering supporter of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers, Barry's passion for sports mirrored his dedication to his country. Survived by his daughter Jan M. Mussori, son Brian Barnett and Wife Angie, grandsons Ryan and fiancé Taylor Zaborowski and Brandon Mussori, granddaughter Maggie Barnett, and great-grandson Ryder Mussori, Barry's legacy is entwined with the love and memories shared with his family.
Barry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lillian Anderson; brother Robert Zyblocki and his parents, Elizabeth Muller and Clyde Barnett.
A visitation to honor his life will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Hwy, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. A Catholic blessing service is scheduled for Friday, February 9, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a committal service with Military Honors in Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Braddock Hills, PA, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. In this time of loss, we remember Barry for his service, loyalty, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
