

Albert (“Big Al”) Kantz, age 76 of Wexford, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. He was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy Kantz. Al was the loving husband of Shirley (“Cupcake”) Kantz on August 29, 2023 they would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. He was a supportive father to his two sons Kurt (Candace) and Kevin (Emily) Kantz and Grumpy Grampy to his four grandchildren Myra, Miranda, Alex, and Angie. He is also survived by his brother Rev. Frank Kantz (Grace). Al was preceded in death by his brother Bill Kantz (Pat) and nephew, John Kantz (Dana).
Albert proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army (“Screaming Eagles”) in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Albert worked in automotive sales and management for over 40 years where he was well respected and liked by his coworkers and customers.
When he wasn't working, he enjoyed being at his camp on the Allegheny River and in Florida. Al was always on the move, fixing things, being with his family and friends, pacing and traveling.
A visitation will be held at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. Funeral services will be held at H.P. Brandt Funeral home on Thursday, August 31 at 9am. Burial with full military honors at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville immediately following the service.
