Ward Wylie Johnson, lifelong resident of Wyoming County passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Born October 30, 1936 he was the son of the late Thomas and Bessie Johnson. Ward was a coal miner for over 30 years; and was a faithful member of the UMWA. He was an electrician and served on the Itmann mine rescue team. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life for 53 years, Betty Jean and a daughter, Brenda Sue. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rebecca Roland and her husband, Rick; Debra Cunningham and her husband, Eugene; sons, James T. Johnson and his wife, Cindi; and Chuck Johnson and his wife, Angie. He is also survived by his only brother and best friend, Junior and sisters, Ruth, Mae, Jeannie and Debbie 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren
