Dorothy Jean Puckett, 85 of Jumping Branch entered her eternal rest with The Lord on Sunday, September 11, 2016 Born in Harlan County Kentucky, in a little coal camp called Kitts Kentucky on May 3, 1931, the daughter of the late B. Hobbs and Mossie Hobbs. She enjoyed being with her family and cherished her grandchildren, whom lovingly called her “Grandot”. She enjoyed playing piano, crochet, tending her flowers and was a great homemaker and cook. She felt her best years served were in the ministry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Puckett; son, Gary Puckett; brothers, Charles and Ronnie Hobbs; sisters, Evelynn Gibson Hutchinson, Lucille Serra, Helen White, Josephine Hobbs and Betty Lou Hobbs. Survivors include her daughters, Gilda and husband, Noel Wiles of Jumping Branch Donna Puckett of Jumping Branch Sherry and husband, Richard Hall of Turkey Creek Jennifer and husband, David Hutchinson of Wyoming Son, Michael Puckett of Cottageville Sister, June and husband, Bob Scantland of Warren, MI 10 Grandchildren 20 Great-grandchildren
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny with the Rev. Eddie Crews officiating.
Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
