William Robert Lawrence

William “Bill” Lawrence, 71, a native of Plaquemine and resident of Pierre Part, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Bill had a passion for teaching, photography, gardening, and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Judy Landry Lawrence; one daughter, Christy Lawrence Sagona; one son, David Paul Lawrence; three sisters, Jan Devillier, Cyndy Johnson and Ann Coker; one brother, Mike Wascom; four grandchildren, Ashley Sagona, Kasie Sagona, Ella Lawrence and David Paul Lawrence II. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy David Lawrence and Mary Castania Lawrence; one sister, Myrtle Morgan; three brothers, Mack Lawrence, Sloan Lawrence, and Ronald Chamberlain. Pallbearers will be: Mervin LeBlanc, Simon Coupel, Paul Landry Jr., David Lawrence, David Sagona, and Justin Chaisson. The family would like to thank Pierre Part First Responders, Acadian Ambulance, and the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 7:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part. Officiating the services will be the Reverend Al Davidson and Co-Celebrant Joel LaBauve. Interment to follow in the Church Mausoleum.
