Thelma was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a strong, talented, creative, and knowledgeable woman. She was well known for her ability to create, design, and customize apparel. Thelma was also an amazing cook who enjoyed feeding and taking care of others.
She was a devout Catholic who cherished her faith.Thelma was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, a member of the Children of Mary, Catholic Daughters, Ladies Altar Society, Church choir, Eucharistic Minister, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and a home demonstration parish leader.
Thelma leaves behind to cherish her memory her three daughters, Carol Templet Aucoin (Jeff), Evelyn Templet Mabile (Tony), Elaine “Nonnie” Templet (Curtis); three sons, Benson Templet (Linda), Nathan Templet (Wanda), and Randall Templet (Debbie); seventeen grandchildren, Cherie Aucoin Roger, Enjolie Aucoin Domingue, Danielle Brady, Angelle Brady Landry, Michelle Brady Shank, Bennett Templet, Geniene Simoneaux Mitchell, Adrianne Simoneaux Speer, Claire Simoneaux Ellendar, Caroline Simoneaux Matherne, Rebecca Templet Adams, Andrew Templet, Maria Templet, Christopher Templet, Nicole Templet Rineholt, Jean Paul Templet, Andre Templet; and she was blessed with an abundance of great grandchildren, which she loved dearly; five siblings, Agnes Daigle, Aimae Marks, Patricia Mantel, Ray Crochet, and Harold Crochet.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicess "Griffin" Templet; two grandchildren, Robert "Robbie" Brady and Jonathan "T-Ben" Templet; parents, Paul and Nellie Crochet; three siblings, Laurie Crochet, Anaise Mabile, and Morris Crochet.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Association.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to The Pierre Part/ Belle River First Responders and Heart of Hospice. They would also like to thank her special caregivers, Annette, Sherryl, Sandy, Gloria, Gail, Barbara, and Sherill.
Pallbearers will be: Bennett Templet, Andrew Templet, Jean Paul Templet, Andre Templet, Christopher Templet, Kaleb Domingue, Seth Hagedorn, and Foster Shank. Honorary pallbearers will be: Isaac Roddy, Grant Roger, Wyatt Speer, and Cooper Griffin Cooley.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 8am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with interment to follow in the church mausoleum.
