York was a loving husband, brother, godfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a proud Vietnam Army veteran who served as a Demolition Specialist. York was also a member of the American Legion Post 3028. In his past time, York enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was an avid Saints fan no matter if they won or lost. York was a devoted godfather and uncle, not having children of his own, he made sure he took care and loved each and everyone of his nieces and nephews.
York leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty seven years, Bernice Cedotal Aucoin; fur baby, Angel Lisa Re; his godchild who was like his son, Shelby Aucoin Jr. (Dina); sisters, Linda Templet (Benson) and Odette Miller; sister-in-law, Betty Gros; brother-in-law, Emmet Cedotal Jr. (Jean Ann); godchildren, Tyler Aucoin, Trevor Aucoin, Bennett Templet (Annie), Kyle Templet, Wiley "Joseph" Gros III (Anna), Tessa Mabile (Put), Wendy Domingue and Linda Stohm; nieces and nephews, Patty Templet (Timmy), Debbie Breaux (Glenn), Patrick Miller, Fred Miller, Dinah Blanchard (Horace) Jimmy Gros Sr. (Laura), Tina Clement, Tammy Doudosatt (Scott), Emmet Cedotal III, Shawn Aucoin (Andy) and Rhonda Klein (John); great nieces and nephews, Shelley Daigle (Chris), Erin Landry (Chad), Matthew Mabile (Katie), Eric Mabile (Hailey), Julee Templet, Dustin Bordelon (Vennisa), Chad Miller (Dawn), Jason Miller (Melissa), Sara Blanchard (Deni), Amber Novillo (Joey), Jenna Comeaux (Kevin), Tori Blanchard, Brandy Gros, Luke Templet, Lucy Templet and Jimmy Gros Jr. and twenty six great great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Angeline Leonard Aucoin; siblings, Laurie Aucoin, Shelby Aucoin Sr., Sterling Aucoin; sisters-in-law, Rita Mae Aucoin and Virgie Aucoin; brothers-in-law, WIley Gros Sr. and James Cedotal; nephews, Jonathan Templet and Wiley Gros Jr.; niece, Bonnie LaHost; father and mother-in-law, Emmet and Annette Cedotal; brother-in-law and Parin Clarence Miller and his fur babies, Tiny Lisa, Jolie and Reese.
The family would like to thank Dr. Keith Landry and the staff, Divinity Home Health, Cardinal Hospice and staff for their love and support in our time of need. We would also like to thank our special angels and caretakers, Betty Gros, Shelby, Tyler, Trevor and Dina.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part, LA, on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Cremation to follow.
