Nellie Alleman Blanchard, 88, born on June 8, 1924 in Pierre Part, died on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Chateau D’Ville in Donaldsonville. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking, and caring for her family.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine B. and Carrel Dubois and Margaret B. and Michael Gros Sr.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gilbert J. Sr. and Betty Blanchard, Vincent J. and Cathy Blanchard, Lennis J. Sr. and Brenda Blanchard, and George J. Sr. and Anita Blanchard; 16 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys Dupuis and Mabel Ourso; two brothers, Oscar Alleman and Edgar Alleman Sr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Gustave J. Blanchard; daughter Alice Blanchard; son Spalding; parents, Edward J. and Claire D. Alleman; a stillborn child sister; sister Clotilde A. Dupuis; six brothers Horace, Spaulding, Edward, Emile, Sidney, and Sylvester Alleman.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part and resume on Monday, September 3, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. until Religious Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Joseph the Worker Cemetery in Pierre Part.
