Margaret Theresa Blanchard Acosta, a native and resident of Pierre Part, passed away Friday May 16, 2014 at her residence. She was 76. She was a former owner and operator of Margaret’s Florist, and was a Parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
Visitation will be Sunday May 18, 2014, 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Monday May 19, 2014, 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Rev. Al Davidson, celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Joseph the Worker Mausoleum, under the direction of Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part.
Survivors include her daughter; Dolores Crochet and husband Leonce, of Pierre Part, 3 sons; Nathan Acosta and wife Pam, of Kingwood, TX, David Acosta and wife Lisa, of Pierre Part, Kevin Acosta and wife Suzette of Lafayette. 2 sisters; Dora Hebert and husband Gleason, and Hilda Landry and husband Ines both of Pierre Part. 7 grandchildren; Holly Young and husband Joshua, Jason Crochet and wife Kristin, Tiffany Guitreau and husband Wade, Kayla Mathews and husband Kyle, and Jeremy Acosta , Logan Acosta, and Luke Acosta. 6 great grandchildren; Ryley, Ian and Ella Young, Collin and Peyton Crochet and Olivia Guitreau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Abel and Louise Blanchard, her husband; Johnny Acosta, a daughter; Melinda Acosta, and a brother Haywood Blanchard.
