Janet Theresa Richard

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved working in her yard tending to her flowers and plants, going dancing on Sundays and cooking. She lived life to the fullest!

She is survived by her loving daughter, Marla Calamia (Donnie); two grandsons, Donnie Calamia (Emily), and Mike Calamia (Colby); two great-grandsons, Tucker and Carter Calamia; great-granddaughter, Baby Calamia due in April; two sisters, Audrey Giroir and Veranda Weber; brother, Mark Giroir (Paula); two sister-in-laws, Doris Richard and Sherry Aucoin (Percy); along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Lester Giroir; her loving husband of 51 years, Cafray Richard; son, Mike Richard; sister, Virgie Aucoin; two nieces, Jamie and Kerri Weber; two sister-in-laws, Ella Mae Landry and Rita Richard; and brother-in-law, Jessie Richard.

The pallbearers will be Donnie Calamia, Mike Calamia, Mark Giroir, Calvin Landry, Jr., Matthew Mabile and Erik Mabile.

The family would like to thank the staff at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 9:00 am at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part until the Mass of Christian Burial for 12:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Father Al Davidson will be officiating.
