James “Jimmie” Gaudet, 83, was born on September 16, 1931 and died on Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was a native and resident of Pierre Part. Jimmie is survived by his wife of 56 year, Virgie Rivere Gaudet; seven daughters, Susan Thompson, Jacqueline Arceneaux and companion, Joseph Bergeron, Lula and husband William Kennerson III, Anna and husband Wayne Leggion, Veronica Gaudet, Glenda and husband Mark Anderson, and Carolyn and husband Larry Sanchez; one son, Timmie and wife Marie Gaudet; 21 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; two brothers, Lester and Roy Gaudet; one sister Vivian Metrejean. Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Lenis Gaudet and Marie Breaux Gaudet; 5 brothers, Paul Gaudet, Phillip Gaudet, Wilbert Gaudet, Leonard Gaudet, and Pierre Gaudet; 2 sisters; Ameline and Anna Mae Gaudet; 3 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 8 a.m.-9:45 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Rev. Al Davidson at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in church mausoleum.
