Hayward was very passionate about his job in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for Boh Brothers for thirty plus years. Haywards favorite part of his job was seeing the finished product of buildings and bridges he worked on. Hayward loved eating at different places, especially Chinese, traveling, and spending the day in his favorite city, New Orleans.
He is survived by his son, Hayward Landry Jr. (Patricia), two grandchildren, Hayward "Trey" Landry III and Claire Kirtland; two great grandchildren, Andrew James Kirby and Julian William Kirtland, and three sisters, Therese Theriot, Bessie Leonard, and Effie Landry.
He is preceded in death by his son, William Landry; parents, Willie and Pauline Landry, and six siblings, Ines Landry, Willie Landry Jr., Aubrey Landry, Celine Vaughn, Lucy Mae Pipsair, and Lou Anna Simoneaux.
A private memorial service for Hayward will be held at a later date.
