Emily Alborado Blanchard

Emily Alborado Blanchard, born December 1, 1938, native of White Castle and resident of Pierre Part, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Emily was a devoted wife for sixty years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a substitute school teacher for many years for the Assumption Parish School system. Emily enjoyed going to the casino and traveling. Emily and her husband visited 48 states in continental USA and Canada. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her five children and their spouses, Jessica Michel and husband Jimmy, Rhonda Empey and husband Keven, Judy Landry and husband Michael, Timmy Blanchard, and Jamie Blanchard and wife Karen; 9 grandchildren, Cory Leonard, Trevor Michel, Tiare’ Empey, Sean Empey, Michelle Landry, Brooke Bercegeay, Devan Blanchard, Kamryn Blanchard, and Kathryn Blanchard; 8 great grandchildren, Symone, Adalyn, Rylee, Jameson, Carson, Kynlee, Harper and Paige; devoted caretakers, Carrie Glynn and various nieces, nephews and in laws. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard Blanchard, one great grandson, Braxton Bercegeay and parents, Allain and Alice Marie Albarado. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm, Rev. Al Davidson officiating. Entombment to follow in the church mausoleum.
