I worked with Kat at ABH. I helped mentor when she first started there. She was a kind sole that brightened up the room when she walked in! 

I remember when my dad got sick and passed away, she was so caring and thoughtful to me.

Prayers to the family and friends. Rest peacefully sweet girl!

I am not really sure what to write or say, except that I will miss her. It's still hitting me. I miss the late texts and all the calls. I miss her laughter and her smart mouth. She was a great soul and wonderful friend. She loved hard and she put everything she had into doing whatever she set her mind to. I know that I will hold onto all the memories and I will always have a special place in my heart for her.  It's never goodbye, just see you later.

I worked with Kat at Avera Behavioral Hospital. Kat always had a smile and positive outlook in every situation. She handled her patients with so much compassion and she talked to them straight from her heart. Kat always asked me about my family and always reminded me that I was being a good Mom even when I felt like I wasn’t. Kat was always so encouraging when talking to her patients and was supportive with her team! I will forever have a special place in my heart for Kat.

I worked with Kat at Avera BH. We were both techs and went through our nursing school journey together. Whenever we saw each other she always went out of her way to say hi and swap stories about school. She always, always had a smile on her face with a positive attitude. She was always willing to help whenever needed. We are all so blessed to know her as a person and her memory will live forever in those she touched. My deepest condolences.

Kat and I worked together as RNs at Avera Behavioral Health. 

She was the type of person that went out of her way to help her patients and colleagues.  Some of my favorite memories of Kat were when she and I got lunch and just kicked it. She was such a cool person, so down to earth, and that’s what I loved about her. It didn’t matter where you were from or what you’ve been through, she always showed respect and was kind to everyone.

I worked with Kat at both LifeScape and Avera BH. While working with Kat at LifeScape, it was apparent that she was a selfless and beautiful soul. She cared for those children with such compassion and love.  We ran into each other once again while working at BH and it was clear that she remained this genuine person who truly wanted to help others. Kat was a true joy to be around, and she will be greatly missed.

I worked with Kat at Avera and was very lucky to watch her help others. Whether she was a BHT, or graduating to an RN. She loved her job and did it well. 

She always had a soft spot for our Spanish speaking patients and would do everything to make sure they were able to communicate their wants and needs. Never batted an eye when anyone needed help. And made sure they all were comfortable during their stay. 

I will never forget the laugh we had when trying to help me translate patient documents from English to Spanish. All thought what I had written from google translate might have not made sense. She did everything to make sure it was done right.

She will be greatly missed by our Avera team. I pray the family finds comfort during this difficult time.

I worked with Kat at Avera. Although I didn't get to work with her often, she was a beautiful soul. When I told her about my daughter playing volleyball, she offered to coach her one on one. She was always so helpful and always had a smile on her face. To be in her presence was a blessing. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Kat was a sweet nurse who embodied positivity and compassion. The kids in the cottage loved her and her brightness was contagious. She always had such kind words to say when I would give report to her; I was so saddened to hear of her passing. Sending prayers of comfort and peace to all of her family.

This was her dinner celebration for taking on the travel nurse position.  Tacos and bowling! I loved being able to work with Kat and I was so excited for her bravery...but so sad to see her go!

Dinner at the vinyl taco... I picked her up from the airport and we went straight there!!!

I’ll never forget the day I met you, I came in a few hours early and we were with the littles… it had been a rough day. I remember how kind you where to the kids even after the day you where having. Watching you interact with them was so pure and came natural to you. The first time you cracked a joke about la chankla I had to cross my knees right where i was standing and kept telling you “stop or I’m gonna pee my pants”. She showed great patience and empathy to everyone she came across to. She loved sharing stories about her family and always told me how much she missed them. Kat was funny, spunky, and a joy to be around. I’m proud to say I had the privilege of working with you, learning from you but above all meeting you. I wish you would have known the happiness you provided to so many people and how much your smile will be missed.

I am so sorry for the loss of sweet Katherine. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed sharing stories about trips taken and her proud heritage. Kat is one of the most beautiful and kind people I've ever met. I worked with Kat at Avera and she was a tremendous co-worker who was always willing to help. I enjoyed seeing Kat blossom from being a hardworking BHT to a hardworking RN. Kat was always smiling and working to make things easier for staff members and patients. I loved to see her shine when connecting with Spanish-speaking patients on the unit.  She had a gift for showing people that she genuinely cared. Peace and blessings to all who know and love Kat. She will be sincerely missed on Earth, but she will remain in the hearts of all who knew her! <3
