Wanda Mae Ryder

Wanda was born in Union County, West Virginia on August 24, 1935.

She was Mom to two sons, Ronnie Chappell, Sr. (Glenda) and Timothy Ryder (Laura). Three Daughters, Renee Carpenter, Carolyn Thompson (Barry), and Juanita Proffitt (Robbie, Sr.). She is preceded in death by her first husband George Chappell, Sr., and her second husband Kent Ryder, two sons, Larry Chappell, George Chappell, Jr., one daughter, Norma Lynn Chappell, one great-grandson, Aaron Chappell and a son-in-law, Billy Carpenter. Also her parents, father, Andy Gill and mother, Minnie Gill, four brothers and three sisters.

She was the proud grandma to sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has left a tremendous testimony for her family. Each night you could hear her pray for each one of her children, their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses. Speaking out loud each one of their names, one by one. Heaven has gained a precious angel. We will see you soon.

A visitation will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roger Stephens, Reverend Dr. Boyce Whitman, and Reverend Brian Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
