Oscar Wayne Anderson

Mr. Anderson was born in Pickens South Carolina, on July 2, 1934, to the late Joseph Ruglass and Nancy "Nealy" Reece Anderson. He was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church but has been attending Scenic Hill Baptist Church for the past 10 years. Mr. Anderson enjoyed beekeeping, hiking, walking daily until his health declined. He was also involved in the Royal Bluegrass Band, where they would travel around to different nursing homes. He enjoyed singing and playing his harmonica for the Royal Bluegrass Band. Mr. Anderson proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 69 years, Audra Anderson, one daughter: Wanda Swain (Noel); and one grandson: Tyler Bateman Swain (Juan).

In addition to his parents, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a son: Larry Wayne Anderson; seven brothers: Joseph, Ed, Ansel, Clyde, Ray, Ralph, and Ivey Anderson; two sisters: Essie Looper and Effie Porter.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home at 3:00 PM, on Monday December 16, 2024.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45-2:45 PM in the Garden Room at Dillards.

Burial will take place after the service at Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Pickens, South Carolina.
