Mildred Holder Lewis, 96, wife of the late John Lewis, Jr., passed away on Tuesday January 22, 2019, at her home in Candler, North Carolina.
Born on March 9, 1922, in Pickens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Pearl Swayngham Holder. Mildred was a retired nursing assistant and member of Aaron Baptist Church in Asheville, North Carolina.
Surviving are her son, James Lewis, niece Barbara Cooley and dearest friend Caroline Ray. Mildred was also predeceased by two sisters, Helen Brezeale and Paris “Pat” Monteath, and one nephew, Chuck Cooper.
Funeral services will be held on Friday January 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel.
