Gladys will rejoin her husband, Otis O’Neal Metts, of 46 Years, her parents Lena and Tilman Goss, and brothers; Lester, Ray, Eugene and Charles; granddaughter, Wanda Mitchell and special friend Willie Mae Brewer in Heaven.
Surviving are 8 children; Shirley Bridges (Jim), Linda Garland (Larry), Billy Pelfrey (Evenell) , Roger Pelfrey (Evelyn) , Debra Metts, Vivian Black, Shirley Burgess (David), and Cindy Cook (Tommy); one sister, Frances Moore and adopted grand-daughter Sonia Cathcart; 20 Grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren, and special friend Charles Brewer.
Gladys met and married Otis in Orangeburg, SC where they lived before moving to the Central SC. She retired from the Singer plant and dedicated her life to taking care of Otis as his Health declined, and loving her family and friends. Gladys loved to dance, fish, shop and watch the Atlanta Braves. She never met a stranger and was a firm believer in Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior.
She will be missed dearly by all who knew her!
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Dillard Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:45 p.m. with Reverend Bobby Stewart and Reverend Delbert McCall officiating.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, SC.
The family will be at their respective homes following the service.
