

Mary Golighlty Cannon Blanton Foster, 90, of Loganville, Georgia passed away May 9, 2017 at 10pm. Mary was born January 29, 1927 in Easley, South Carolina to the late Charles Vernon and Edith Sentell Golightly. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Cannon Cooksey (Harry); two granddaughters, Elizabeth Cooksey Fambrough (Eric) and Emily Cooksey Heding (Ben); and two great-granddaughters, Annabelle Cannon Fambrough and Clara Gaines Fambrough.
Mary, known affectionately as “Mert” by friends and family, was a graduate of Easley High School. She resided in Spartanburg, South Carolina for many years where she was a memember of Carlisle Wesleyan Church. Mary was known for her love of cooking and preparing elaborate meals for family and friends. She was preceded in death by late husbands James Ray Cannon, Henry Boyd Blanton, and William Broadus Foster; and by five brothers and sisters. Mary was an active member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens, South Carolina. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Dillard Funeral Home. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Peter’s Garden in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens immediately following the service.
