Mrs. Alexander was born in Pickens County on November 8, 1934 to the late Lawson and Clovie Allen Aiken. She was the true definition of a Godly loving woman who set forth a great example of how a mother should love her children to her family. She was a caregiver her whole life, an encourager to many, and was known as "Mama A" to numerous people throughout her life. She worked and retired as a Program Assistant and CNA for Active Day Care in Greenville.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her three daughters: Elizabeth Alexander, Martha Alexander, and Wanda F. Jones, all of Greenville; a daughter-in-law: Margaret Alexander of Honea Path; a brother: Luke Aiken of Greenville; six grandchildren: Miranda White (Neal), Kristin Rich (Kevin), Jonathan Gilbert (Savannah), Jeremy Gilbert (Stephanie), T.J. Malik, and Cody Alexander; and eight great-grandchildren: Aleeya Grace, Memphis, Bentley, Maddox, Bristol, Benjamin, LilyAnne, and Rory.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by a son: Larry Alexander, two brothers: Waymon Aiken and Lawson "Junior" Aiken; and three sisters: Willie Mae Cooper, Florene Stargell, and Evelyn Dyer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with interment to follow at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to the Current COVID-19 pandemic, masks will be required to attend the services and visitation.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service, at Dillard Funeral Home.
