Tuesday, September 17, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Six Mile, SC, April 28, 1938, a son of the late James Walter Nations Sr. and the late Berta Kelly Nations. He was a member at Ridgeland Drive Baptist Church.
Jim started his career at Duke Energy as an electrician where he worked for 25 plus years and retired in 1993 from Oconee Nuclear Station.
He found a strong love for horses at an early age and owned and enjoyed riding horses throughout his life. He also loved trail rides with his son and grandson and enjoyed working on the farm, camping with his family, and attending the Walking Horse Celebration in Shelbyville, TN, yearly his entire adult life.
He loved his family and will be missed by them and all that knew him.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughters, Lynn Nations of Charlotte, NC; Karen Bryant of Six Mile, SC; his son, Chris Nations (Deana) of Six Mile, SC; grandchildren Dalton Nations (Rebekah), Jake Coleman, Jonah Coleman (Amelia), Jordan Coleman (Alexis), Evan Bryant (Lindsey), Heather Burke (Scott), Austin Fleming (Katherine), Parker Fleming (Faith) and great grandchildren; Carolina Nations, J.W. Nations, Cooper Bryant, Oliver Burke, Saylor Bryant, Madison Bryant, Opal Burke, and Landry Bryant.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother; Kinard Nations and son-in-law; Terry Bryant.
A memorial service will be on Sunday September 22, 2024 at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home at 2:30PM.
A visitation will be held prior to the service 1:15 to 2:15 in the Garden Room.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgeland Baptist Church or Interim Hospice Group
